[origin: EP2410104A2] The structural panel has a primary base plate made of gypsum or calcium silicate, and a covering layer made of clay and vegetable fibers, where the base plate is treated with white glue, and exhibits a smooth surface. The base plate is formed as a gypsum plasterboard, a gypsum fiber board or a calcium silicate plate. Typha fibers are provided as the vegetable fibers in the covering layer, and the white glue is applied in the base plate as a thin layer in an amount between 80 and 180 grams per meter square. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a structural panel.
