[origin: WO2010108933A1] The invention relates to an articulated connection (3), in particular for connecting in an articulated manner an external mirror to a motor vehicle having a joint base (10) and an articulated arm (30) connected in a swiveling manner to the joint base (10) by means of an automatically torque-switching safety coupling (90). According to the invention, the articulated arm (30) is divided into a coupling-side, inner articulated arm part (40) and a coupling-distant, outer articulated arm part (50), wherein the inner articulated arm part (40) is connected in a swiveling manner to the joint base (10) by means of the safety coupling (90) and the outer articulated arm part (50) is connected in a swiveling manner to the inner articulated arm part (40) and can be swiveled relative to the inner articulated arm part (40) by means of a swivel drive (100).
