[origin: AT507423A4] The method for preheating annealing products (3, 4) in a hood-type annealing system having two annealing bases (1, 2) receiving the annealing products under a protective hood, is claimed. The annealing products to be subjected to a heat treatment are preheated in the protective hood by way of a gaseous heat transfer medium, which is circulated between the two protective hoods (7, 8), absorbs heat from annealing products heat-treated in the protective hood and dissipates the heat to the annealing products to be preheated in the other protective hood. The method for preheating annealing products (3, 4) in a hood-type annealing system having two annealing bases (1, 2) receiving the annealing products under a protective hood, is claimed. The annealing products to be subjected to a heat treatment are preheated in the protective hood by way of a gaseous heat transfer medium, which is circulated between the two protective hoods (7, 8), absorbs heat from annealing products heat-treated in the protective hood and dissipates the heat to the annealing products to be preheated in the other protective hood. The circulated heat transfer medium flows around the two protective hoods on the outside, while an inert gas is recirculated inside the protective hoods. An independent claim is included for a hood-type annealing system.
