Abstract (en)
Described herein are a system and a method for the treatment of metal bars, in particular bars for the reinforcement of concrete, provided in which is at least one operating unit (1), such as, for example, a bending unit or a cutting unit. A device for picking up, separating, and transferring the bars automatically feeds a plurality of bars to the operating unit (1) picking them up in any desired predetermined number from a bundle of bars deposited in a magazine (M) and separating them from the remaining bars of the bundle. The bars are picked up, separated from the bundle, and transferred to the operating unit by displacing them substantially only in a direction (X) transverse with respect to their longitudinal direction.
