[origin: WO2010112357A1] The invention relates to a newspaper product or a newspaper product section with at least one first and at least one second quire which is at least two pages in width, wherein, in the closed state, the at least two quires are arranged such that each is folded longitudinally along a longitudinal folding line and lie inside one another, and wherein the at least two quires have, next to one another on both sides of the longitudinal folding line, two vertical printed pages or one printed image which is spread over two vertical printed pages, wherein an inner one of the at least two quires which are at least two pages in width has an outer region which can be folded open, at least on a longitudinal side of its longitudinally folded centre region which is at least two pages in width, which longitudinal side extends parallel to the longitudinal folding line, wherein, in the region of its lateral edge, said outer region which can be folded open is joined in a material-to-material manner to the lateral edge region of the centre region which is two pages in width, and, in the folded open state, the outer region protrudes beyond the width of the remaining product and continues the centre region laterally. A method and an apparatus for producing said product are also disclosed.
