Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2236532A1] Preparing nanoparticle modified polyisocyanate, comprises: reacting hydrophilic polyisocyanate (a) containing at least one ionic and/or non-ionic emulsifier (having a polyether unit (I), sulfonate group and/or phosphate- and/or phosphonate group) with alkoxysilane compound (II); and subsequently dispersing inorganic particle (c) (optionally in the surface modified form) having a particle size of less than 200 nm, measured by a dynamic light scattering in dispersion. Preparing nanoparticle modified polyisocyanate, comprises: reacting hydrophilic polyisocyanate (a) containing at least one ionic and/or non-ionic emulsifier (having a polyether unit of formula ([-CH(R)-(CH 2) q-O-] p) (I), sulfonate group (as SO 3) and/or phosphate- and/or phosphonate group (as PO 4and/or PO 3)) with alkoxysilane compound (b) of formula (Q-Z-SiX aY 1> 3 - a) (II); and subsequently dispersing inorganic particle (c) (optionally in the surface modified form) having a particle size of less than 200 nm, measured by a dynamic light scattering in dispersion. R : H or 1-10C alkyl; Q : reactive group against isocyanate; X : hydrolyzable group; Y 1> : alkyl group; Z : 1-12C alkylene group (preferably 1-4C alkylene); q : 1-3; p : 1-1000; and a : 1-3. Independent claims are included for: (1) the nanoparticle modified polyisocyanate obtained by the above method; and (2) a polyurethane system comprising the above nanoparticle modified polyisocyanate.
