Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2010112149A1] The invention relates to a cartridge ammunition which can be stored in a belt for firing from an automatic firearm and comprises a cartridge case (2) with a case base (1) which, at the rear, has a case edge (3), behind the front of which claw-shaped extraction jaws of a cartridge extractor of the automatic firearm can engage in order to draw the cartridge out of the belt. In order to easily avoid damage to the case edge (3) when the cartridge is being drawn out of the belt by the extraction jaws of the cartridge extractor, the invention proposes to adapt the contour of the case edge (3) of the cartridge case (2) to that contour of the extraction jaws which faces towards the case edge (3). As a result, the introduction of force is distributed over a larger area when the cartridge is being drawn out of the belt and locally very high plastic deformation at the case edge (3) as a result of the sharp extraction jaws is avoided.
