[origin: WO2010112150A1] The invention relates to a modular circuit configuration (10) for switching electrical power. Said configuration comprises a relay socket (40) and an adapter (30) that can be releaseably connected to the relay socket (40). The adapter (30) comprises a semiconductor relay (60) and a control device (50) electrically connected thereto. A relay (20) is further provided that can be releasably electrically and mechanically connected to the adapter (30), such that the semiconductor relay (60) is connected in parallel to a mechanical switch (22) of the relay (20) in the connected state, wherein the control device (50) can actuate the relay (20) and the semiconductor relay (60) at different times.
