[origin: WO2010115405A1] The invention relates to a method for producing pipe material and to an apparatus therefor. The production is carried out by way of a forward hollow extrusion method. To this end, a pipe section (31) comprising a butt (32) is pressed using a two-part die (26, 27) and a die insert (24). The butt (32) is separated from the pipe section (31) and removed from the pressing tool (16) by way of a die part (26).
