[origin: WO2010115506A1] The invention relates to a fuel-operated setting device (1) for driving bolts (2) into foundations (3), said device comprising a driving piston (4), a piston head guiding element (9), a piston rod guiding element (8), and a combustion chamber (15) with an adjustable length. The aim of the invention is to provide such a setting device with a simple, robust structure and, at the same time, the capacity to regulate the power just before the bolt is placed on the foundation (3), without requiring further movement. To this end, the piston head guiding element (9) and the piston rod guiding element (8) can be moved in relation to each other, and the length of the combustion chamber (15) can be determined by adjusting its path of displacement V.
