[origin: WO2010115831A1] The invention relates to a data processing system and to a method for providing at least one driver assistance function. A stationary receiver unit (30a to 30c) is provided for receiving image data created by way of at least one image capturing unit (20) of a vehicle (12) by capturing at least one image of the surroundings of the vehicle (12). A stationary processing unit (40) processes at least part of the received image data, wherein on the basis of the image data the stationary processing unit (40) generates driver assistance data having at least one piece of driver assistance information, wherein at least one driver assistance function can be generated in the vehicle (12) by means of the driver assistance information that was created. A transmitter unit (30a to 30c) transmits the driver assistance data to the vehicle (12).
