[origin: EP2418315A2] The domestic appliance (9) comprises a level sensor, which has an optical level sensor (1). The optical level sensor comprises a light guide (2), which is partially wettable with liquid (F), and a light source (4), which is coupled in by the light (S) in the light guide. A light sensor (7) is provided for detecting light outcoupled from the light guide. An independent claim is also included for a method for determining a status parameter, particularly filling level of a liquid in a domestic appliance.
