Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2418659A2] The resistor has a cooling body (2) designed with a receiving chamber (14) for a wire heating element, which is positioned relative to walls of the body by magnesium oxide-filling (12) i.e. magnesium oxide-ballast. The chamber is closed by a current supplying sided closure and a bottom sided closure on a face side. The closures include micanite tiles adjacent to the filling, where the tiles are inserted in the chamber and sealed by a sealing agent (26) i.e. hardenable sealing mass. A closure plate (28) is provided at a distance or adjacent to the tiles and mechanically connected with the body. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a brake resistance unit. The closure plates are made of glass or ceramic.
