[origin: EP2420617A1] The calendar (1) has a cladding (6) rotatably arranged around a fixed axis (5), and a radially movable pressing element (9) arranged between the axis and the cladding and movably guided over a lifting path. The pressing element applies force from the axis to the cladding towards a treatment nip (4). An end device (7) is radially movable in another lifting path opposite to the axis and aligned with the pressing element. A relative stroke limiter (13) is provided between the pressing element and the end device and activated when difference of two strokes exceeds or falls below preset measure.
