This tool unit is characterized in that the feeding wedge (5) is arranged on the front side of the guide rod (4), facing the broach (2), and operates on a wedge-shaped feeding face (6) of the broach (2) arranged on the rear side of the broach (2), wherein the broach (2) and the guide rod (4) can be moved up and down together in the longitudinal direction (L) during a working stroke and wherein the broach (2) and the guide rod (4) can be displaced in relation to each other in the longitudinal direction (L) in the course of the feeding.
