Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2010121959A1] Proposed is a method (100) for recognizing attempts at manipulating a self-service terminal, in particular a cash dispenser, comprising a control panel in which various elements, e.g. a keyboard, cash dispensing slot, etc., are arranged. In said method, a camera is directed onto at least one of the elements, and the image data generated by the camera is evaluated. At least one edge image is created from the generated image data using edge detection (step 120). The edge image is evaluated using a reference edge image (step 130). Several individual images are used for creating the reference edge image (step 110). The edge detection allows manipulation attempts to be evaluated and recognized in a fully automatic manner.
