[origin: WO2010121829A1] The invention relates to a battery management system for a battery module having a plurality of battery cells which have respective positive and negative terminals, the battery management system being located on a board and said board having a plurality of electric contacts that can be brought in direct contact with conductive elements of the battery cells. The conductive elements are either the terminals of the battery cells of the battery module and/or conductive spacer elements which are provided between adjacent terminals of the cells.
