[origin: WO2010125293A1] The invention relates to a shuttle system for importing nucleic acids of interest into a mitochondrion. The system is based on the use of a fusion protein between a mitochondrial targeting sequence and a protein binding a nucleic acid of interest. The shuttle system can be used, for example, in the field of agronomics, in the field of gene therapy, and in research projects for characterizing the function of mitochondrial genes.
