The hand-held machine tool comprises a tool, which is carried by a drive shaft extending through an axle journal (3) and is partially covered by a protective casing (1). A protection collar (4) is provided, which is mounted on the axle journal. Bei einer erfindungsgemäßen Handwerkzeugmaschine, insbesondere in der Ausgestaltung als handgeführte Winkelschleifmaschine, wird die drehverstellbare und in verschiedenen Drehstellungen zu einem gehäuseseitigen Lagerhals (3) fixierbare Schutzhaube (1) über eine Spannschelle (8) zum Lagerhals (3) verspannt, deren Spannenden (9, 10) über eine Spannvorrichtung (16) in Spann- und Öffnungsrichtung zwangsgekoppelt sind.
