Solidifying a nonwoven fabric by water jet treatment is claimed, where the nonwoven fabric contains flat fibers with a ratio of width B to thickness D is of B:D>= 10:11. An independent claim is also included for the spunlaced nonwoven fabric comprising flat fibers with a ratio of width B to thickness D is B:D>= 10:1.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Verfestigung eines Faservlieses mittels Wasserstrahlbehandlung. Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Faservlies Flachfasern mit einem Verhältnis von Breite B zu Dicke D von B:D ¥ 10:1 enthält. Die Flachfasern sind bevorzugt cellulosische Fasern, insbesondere nach dem Viskoseverfahren erhaltene kollabierte Hohlfasern.
