[origin: WO2010130406A1] The invention relates to a flood protection dam with a demountable flood protection wall, providing dam uprights (1, 9, 14, 19, 31) and wall areas (2, 3, 32, 33) between these dam uprights. The wall areas comprise horizontal dam beams (4, 5, 34, 35), which are retained on the front side of the dam uprights by retaining plates. According to the present invention, the retaining device (6, 10, 15, 20, 36) comprises an actuating device (12, 17, 23, 50) which is arranged on the landside of the dam uprights (1, 9, 14, 19, 31) and which is coupled mechanically to the retaining plate (8, 11, 16, 21, 37), which can be moved up and down along the front side of the dam upright.
