Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2432109A2] The switch (10) has series circuits including two controllable power semiconductor components (V1, V2) and two diodes (D1, D2). A connecting point of the semiconductor components and diodes forms two terminals (11, 12). The series circuits and a unipolar capacitor (C) are connected parallel to each other. One of the series circuits, a collector of one of the semiconductor components and an anode of the one of the diodes are connected with each other. Another series circuit, an emitter of another semiconductor component and a cathode of another diode are connected with each other. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an electrical converter for converting a two-phase or a multi-phase alternating (AC) voltage to a direct (DC) voltage or vice versa, comprising an intermediate circuit (2) a method for operating an electrical converter.
