[origin: EP2439443A2] The illumination device e.g. liquid crystal wallpaper (13) has flat form support structure that fastens the crystals (3) that emit light when irradiated by light beams from a light source (7). The light source is arranged such that the light beam is irradiated at acute angle with respect to the surface of the crystal. The back surfaces of the crystals are coated with reflective coating.
