Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2440007A2] The method involves displaying a hob hot indicator on a display unit (6) e.g. LCD, where position of the indicator on the display unit is provided depending on a position of detected heating area (Z1) in a cooking surface (3). The indicator is extinguished followed by a representation of new heating area (Z2) on the display unit when the new heating area formed of subset of inductors (2) partially covered by a container is detected if the representation of the new heat zone on the display unit partially intersects a display of the indicator on the display unit. An independent claim is also included for an induction cook top, comprising a set of inductors.
