[origin: WO2010142566A1] The invention relates to a household appliance, having a container (1) for receiving objects to be treated, and an ozone generator (20), and an ozone eliminating device (18), wherein the ozone eliminating device (18) is arranged in an exhaust air conduit (17), said exhaust air conduit (17) being connected to the container (1). The exhaust air conduit (17) comprises also a fan (19) for removing exhaust air from the container (1). The invention further relates to a method for eliminating ozone from said household appliance, wherein a negative pressure is generated, particularly in the container (1).
