Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2010142703A2] The invention relates to a method for edging a workpiece. According to said method, a) an edging member (10; 20; 30; 40) rotating about a rotational axis (R) moves along a flange (2) of the workpiece (1) in an advancing direction (V), b) the edging member (10; 20; 30; 40) presses, with a front pressure surface (13; 23; 33) and a pressure edge (15; 25, 35) surrounding the front pressure surface (13; 23; 33), against the flange (2) with a pressure force (F) during said advancing movement, c) the flange (2) is thereby progressively moved, in the advancing direction, along an edging edge (3) facing in the advancing direction (V), and d) the rotational axis (R) is oriented at least essentially orthogonally to the displaced flange (2), such that a relative movement carried out by the edging member (10; 20; 30; 40) with the front pressure surface (13; 23; 33) in relation to the displaced flange (2) is at least essentially a sliding movement.
