[origin: EP2441573A2] The press has an extrusion die (1) with an opening (2) for accommodating material to be pressed. A main extrusion die presses the material along main pressing direction (x). Two transverse dies (3) are moved along transverse pressing direction (y) in the opening, where the transverse pressing direction is transverse to the main pressing direction. A drive is provided for the transverse dies, and comprises a force transfer device (5), which transfers drive force from the transverse dies. The drive comprises a hydraulic cylinder and/or an electric servomotor. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a blank made of powdery material.
