The domestic appliance comprises a pump (11) for conveying a liquid medium, and a cutting unit, by which the operation of the pump is carried out. An impeller (24) is provided for conveying the liquid medium. The impeller has the cutting unit. The cutting unit comprises a blade (36,37).

Es soll eine Lösung aufgezeigt werden, wie ein flüssiges Medium in einem Haushaltsgerät 1 zur Pflege von Wäsche besonders zuverlässig durch eine Pumpe 11 gefördert werden kann. Es wird Wäschepflegegerät mit einer Pumpe 11 bereitgestellt, die zum Fördern eines flüssigen Mediums dient. Es sind bei der Pumpe 11 Schneidmittel 36, 37 vorgesehen, mittels welcher beim Betreiben der Pumpe 11 ein in dem flüssigen Medium befindlicher Festkörper - zum Beispiel ein Haar, eine Faser oder ein Gewebe - durchtrennt wird. Insbesondere ist die Pumpe 11 eine Kondensatpumpe für einen Kondensationstrockner 1.
