[origin: WO2010145934A1] The invention relates to a side positioning bed, comprising: an underframe (1); a central slatted mattress frame (6) that can tilted at the underframe (1) about a horizontal longitudinal axis (7); slatted wing frames (12; 18, 19), which are arranged at the longitudinal sides (10) of the central slatted mattress frame (6; 8, 9) and can be pivoted relative thereto about a horizontal pivot axis (11); and a mattress arrangement (14) extending over the central slatted mattress frame (6; 8, 9) and the lateral slatted wing frames (12; 18, 19), wherein in the horizontal basic positions thereof, the slatted wing frames (12; 18, 19) are arranged on the raised level (N12) with respect to the central slatted mattress frame (6, 8, 9); and the mattress arrangement (14) comprises a mattress base (15), which covers the central slatted mattress frames (6, 8, 9) and compensates for the level difference between the central slatted mattress frame and the slatted wing frames (12; 18, 19), and a level top mattress (16) extending over the mattress base (15) and the slatted wing frames (12; 18, 19).
