[origin: WO2010146073A2] The invention relates to a separating shaft (1) for separating band strips (2) of a longitudinally divided band. Two diagonally opposed transport carriages (8, 9) that can travel in guide grooves (5, 6) parallel to the axis (7-7) of the separating shaft (1) by means of a drive, each having a gripper (10) that can travel into and out of the separating shaft (1) for capturing a separating disc (3) transported on the separating shaft with the transport carriages (8, 9) to a position prescribed by a cutting program and for releasing the positioned separating disc, and two pneumatic clamping bars (11, 12) for clamping the positioned separating discs (3) on the separating shaft (1) and offset 90° from the transport carriages (8, 9), are integrated in the separating shaft (1).
