[origin: WO2010145935A1] The present invention relates to a device for mounting a grommet in a predetermined position on a preferably electrical cable. Firstly, the device comprises a mounting sleeve to be passed through the grommet. The rear end of the mounting sleeve is used to insert one end of the electrical cable into the mounting sleeve. The front end of the mounting sleeve is used to transfer a tractive force onto the mounting sleeve. The mounting sleeve has an outside diameter increasing in the direction of the rear end, said outside diameter being larger at the rear end of the mounting sleeve than the inside diameter of the grommet to be mounted. The sleeve receptacle has a grommet stop to prevent the widened grommet from also passing through the sleeve receptacle. At the front end, the mounting sleeve can be subjected to a tractive force with respect to the sleeve receptacle by way of a tractive device. According to the invention, the device further comprises a position fixing device, which can be fastened on the cable at the predetermined position, thus forming a positioning stop (29) for the grommet to be mounted.
