Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2010149610A1] The invention relates to a device for changing out a segment (2) in a strand guide (1) of a continuous casting machine for casting liquid metal, comprising a segment manipulator (8) releaseably connected to the segment (2), a linked chain (9) changeout guides (6) associated with the segment (2), and a lifting fixture (19) for lifting or lowering the segment (2), wherein the linked chain (9) is connected to the segment manipulator (8) and the lifting fixture (19), and the linked chain and the segment manipulator (8) are guided by guide elements (14) in the changeout guides (6). The aim of the invention is to provide a device of the above type by means of which a smallest possible radius of curvature of the changeout guides (6) and/or a maximum required pull-out force of the lifting fixture (19) can be reduced without thereby negative affecting the practical applicability of the device. Said aim is achieved by a device whereby the segment manipulator (8) comprises at least one articulated linkage (12) disposed on the side.
