Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2447924A1] The system has traffic detectors (10, 20) arranged at measuring sections (1, 2) to detect passage of a vehicle (F) e.g. lorry, through the respective sections and velocity (v) of the passing vehicle as local traffic data, where a road stretch (S) is bound by the sections. The detectors detect identifying features (z) and passage times (t) of the passing vehicle, respectively. An analyzing unit (31) compares the features detected on the sections and calculates average travel time and/or average travel speed for the road stretch from the passage time corresponding to matching features.
