[origin: WO2010142368A2] The invention relates to a toilet seat (2) for support in the physiological process of urination and defecation. The toilet seat comprises a seat ring (1), said seat ring (1) having a seat surface (3) adapted to the natural squatting position of a human during urination and defecation. The seat surface (3) is trough-shaped and is defined by a lower center seating area (4) between a rear elevation (5) and a front elevation (6) of the seat surface (3), the rear elevation (5) being higher than the front elevation (6). The seat surface (3) is configured such and requires the user (7) to sit on the seat surface (3) in such a position that the angle (a) between the thigh axis (Y1) and the torso axis (Y2) of the user (7) ranges between 40° to 70°, preferably between 55° and 65°, especially between 50° and 60°.
