Abstract (en)

[origin: GB2471568A] A medical table top 12 comprises a body having a central polypropylene cellular core 18 thermally fused/bonded in a sandwich configuration between two thermoplastic face sheets 20, 22. A thermoplastic edge strip 24 is thermally fused/bonded along an edge of the sandwich layers to seal the table. The face sheets 20, 22 and edge strip 24 may be fibre-reinforced polypropylene. The table top 12 may have a cover comprising a paint or acrylic finish, foamed material or "soft-touch" material to enhance a patient's comfort and to ensure that the table is hard-wearing and readily cleanable. The table top 12 may have anchor points 28 and apertures 16 for medical apparatus and cables.
