[origin: WO2011000907A1] The invention relates to a hydraulic press unit (1) having a fixed part (2) and a moving part (3), wherein the moving part is moved relative to the fixed part (2) by means of a hydraulic piston (4) and can be moved back into an initial position by means of a restoring spring (5), wherein furthermore, the return movement can be triggered as a function of a predetermined pressing pressure by means of the response of a return valve (6), wherein furthermore a control valve (7) is provided which, in addition to the return valve (6), opens up a hydraulic medium outlet (8) in the open state and has a hydraulic medium inflow and outflow side. To provide a hydraulic press unit of said type which is of advantageous design with regard to the response of the control valve, it is proposed that, when the return valve (6) opens, the control valve (7) is acted on by the pressure of the returning hydraulic medium on the inflow and outflow sides, wherein the pressure on the inflow side is lower as a result of throttling.
