[origin: WO2011000515A1] The invention discloses a pilot-controlled valve having a main stage and a pilot stage. The main stage has a directional valve which is designed for example as a seat valve or slide valve. Such a directional valve has at least one control chamber which is connected via a directional valve of the pilot stage to a pressure source or a tank. To shorten the adjusting time of the directional valve of the main stage, at least one switching valve is arranged in parallel with the directional valve of the pilot stage. Said switching valve is extremely cheap and robust, has a short switching time and permits an increase in pressure medium throughput through the pilot stage.
