[origin: WO2011001062A1] In order to supervise communication quality in a resource managed by a gateway connected to a service entity (ES) via an intermediate monitoring entity (ECI1) in a telecommunication network supporting a session initiation protocol, after detecting a quality defect in the resource, the gateway transmits (A5) a quality notification (NOTIFY_Q) to the service entity after establishing a service communication (AD) between the latter. The notification contains an identifier and a datum of the communication quality of the resource. Before or after reestablishing the communication, the service entity can subscribe to the supervision by transmitting (A1) a subscription request (SUBSCRIBE) that includes a type of resource monitored by the gateway. The gateway can be preconfigured to establish the communication for notifying the service entity of the quality defect.
