[origin: WO2011000114A1] In a method of signalling active assignments to an ordered group of wireless terminals in communication with a base station in a wireless communication system, each wireless terminal of the ordered group having a corresponding position within the ordered group, the base station: determines an allocation of active assignments for the ordered group, the allocation corresponding to a number of active assignments; determines an index value identifying the allocation in a set of possible allocations for the number of active assignments for the ordered group; and transmits the index value to at least one wireless terminal of the ordered group of wireless terminals.
