Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2011003392A1] The present invention relates to an electric drive (1) for rollators (2), preferably for conventional rollators (2), in particular movable walking aids (2) used as a continuous support for handicapped or physically weak persons during walking, characterized in that the electric drive (1) has an electrically motorized platform (3), which can be reversibly or irreversibly arranged on the rollator (2) by means of fastening elements (6) and which can bear a load. If necessary, the user can stand on the platform (3), which is preferably equipped with rollers (4), and hold onto the handles of the rollator as usual. Thus, the user can continue moving while standing if his ability to walk has been exhausted or if the user would like to deliberately expand his range of mobility. The platform (3) is preferably foldable (capable of being folded up/lowered) at the press of a button. Thus, the user does not experience any bodily strains such as bending or lifting, which might presently be difficult for him. The electric drive (1) for rollators (2) improves the quality of life of the user, expands his range of mobility, and allows him to be en route with fewer worries, because he will reach his destination safely.
