[origin: WO2011003682A1] The invention relates to a central valve (30) of a camshaft adjuster (11) of an internal combustion engine (1), comprising a valve housing (31), a control piston (32), and a mounting flange (42), wherein the valve housing (31) is arranged, at least in part, inside a receptacle (29) inside the camshaft adjuster (11), said valve housing comprising at least one inflow connection (P), one outflow connection (T), and one working connection (A, B). The control piston (32) is arranged axially slidable inside the valve housing (31). The pressure fluid flowing to and from the camshaft adjuster (11) can be controlled by the suitable positioning of the control piston (32) inside the valve housing (31), wherein the mounting flange (42) is fixedly connected to a wall section of the receptacle (29), thus determining the axial position of the valve housing (31) relative to the camshaft adjuster (11).
