[origin: EP2453050A1] The machine has needle bar (7) with sewing needle (8) that guides upper thread (9) by weight material. An upper yarn clamp (14) is arranged in supply-side upper thread course between gripper (10) and thread lever (18). An upper thread tension device (21) is arranged in supply-side upper thread path in front of upper yarn clamp. A thread pulling unit (24) provided between upper yarn clamp and thread lever is changeable between neutral and thread-pulling positions. The path of upper thread in thread-pulling position about thread path difference is set longer than in neutral position.
