Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2011008170A1] A Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag assembly (200) which is suitable for livestock tracking. The RFID tag assembly includes a male portion (110), a female portion (120) and a support member (130). The female portion is configured to receive the male portion, and the support member is coupled to the male and the female portions. The support member carries an RFID communication device (131) which includes a transponder (131a) and an RFID coil coupled to the transponder. In some embodiments, the RFID coil (131b) has a thickness of less than approximately 2 millimeters (mm). In one embodiment, the RFID coil has an inner diameter of approximately 9mm and an outer diameter of approximately 16mm.
