Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2011006785A2] The invention relates to a water-bearing household appliance (1), in particular a dishwasher (2), to which a fluid can be added during at least one filling step and comprising at least one lye pump (6) for delivering fluid from the water-bearing household appliance (1) and an overfilling protection device (11) for preventing too high a water level in the water-bearing household appliance (1). The overfilling protection device (11) is designed for capturing at least one operating parameter of the lye pump (6) and prevents performing a further filling step after the filling step if a faulty function of the lye pump (6) is present that can be derived from the at least one operating parameter. The invention further relates to a method for operating a water-bearing household appliance (1).
