Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2011008078A1] The invention relates to a fire retarding seal for sealing slits or gaps in case of fire. The seal comprises a heat activated foaming strip, and a sleeve surrounding the strip. The sleeve comprises a porous material which is permeable to/for smoke and preferably has a melting point above 300?C. In case of fire, the strip will start to foam and will be enveloped by the sleeve so that the foam will stay inside the sleeve. The sleeve can be fixed to a construction such as a frame of a fire door.
