[origin: WO2011009872A1] A vaporizer reactor vessel (51 ) includes a vaporizing chamber (52) having a fuel oil inlet (53) and a fuel vapour outlet (54). A jet (55) is mounted at the outlet (54). A heater (8) mounted within the chamber (52) is operable to heat fuel oil passing through the chamber (52) to a vaporizing temperature. A porous body of catalytic fuel conditioning material (56) is provided within the chamber (52) between the inlet (53) and the outlet (54) which is operable to inhibit deposition of carbonaceous material from the fuel. The jet (55) discharges into a cylindrical tube burner (60) having circumferential outlet slits (62) through which the fuel vapour and air is discharged for combustion.
