[origin: US2012057916A1] A print assembly including an upstream print unit and a downstream print unit adapted to print, one after the other, a strip to be printed over a print width. Each upstream and downstream print unit defining a print interstice and the two print interstices defining an interstice plane. The two upstream and downstream print units defining a middle line. The print assembly includes a compensator having at least one compensation path between the upstream and downstream print units for a partial strip of the strip to be printed. Each compensation path is longer than a neutral path for a neutral portion of the strip to be printed.
