[origin: EP2457860A2] The device (55) has a measuring device (57) detecting position of a cabin with respect to a door zone. An evaluation device comprising a lift controller (34) and a control device (24) detects leaving of the zone with an opened cabin door and reaching of inadmissible acceleration and speed of the cabin within the zone based on output signals of the measuring device, where switching-off of a driving motor (22) and break-down of an operating brake (32) are activated by the evaluation device. Length of the zone is measured, such that the cabin reaches a standstill condition after holding points.
