[origin: EP2110358A1] The truck (1) has an electric traction drive unit e.g. asynchronous motor, driven by an internal combustion engine e.g. diesel engine. An energy storage (25) i.e. electro-chemical storage such as high-power battery, is arranged outside of an engine compartment (4) in the truck. The electric energy storage is fastened or arranged at a driver protection roof (3) of the truck. The electric energy storage is arranged at a rear side of the roof, where the rear side faces a counterbalance (9). The energy storage is provided with a cooling device.
