[origin: EP2458281A2] The apparatus (10) has control unit (22) that controls movement of cleaning unit (34) within a chimney (12) by a drive unit (24). A housing (16) for receiving the drive unit is provided at the upper side of exhaust gas outlet end (14) of chimney. The housing is provided with a closing element (56) that separates the cleaning unit from remaining components within the housing. An independent claim is included for exhaust system.
